Hotel Me Madrid |
For my B-Day back in February 16th we headed to Madrid for a weekend getaway where we got to meet and celebrate with our best friends and my sister. Since it was my b-day I wanted to stay in a very cool hotel. I was looking for a boutique hotel with a rooftop terrace preferably, rooms with a view and in the middle of everything. After browsing for the best deals and reading lots of reviews I decided for the ME Madrid. From now on it's the place where I want to stay every time I go to Madrid.
Once we got there they offered us an upgrade for a better price than the online one for the same room, so we got it. The service was amazing! They originally had us in a room with a side view to a quiet "plaza" but I wanted to be right at "Plaza Santa Ana" so by the next morning they made sure we got a room on that side of the building. IT WAS AMAZING!! During the whole day you could see lots of people in the "plaza" and got even fuller by night time with the locals doing "botellones". These are group of friends who gather and get their drinks at the store and just drink them in the streets and then head to the bars. There were so many people outside we would get some drinks and have them at our room with our windows open and just felt like we were hanging out with them.
Hotel features are great. It has an amazing rooftop terrace where you get to see the lighted city at night. There are great bar areas and good restaurants too. Everything in the hotel is ultra modern and the rooms are the cutest. Our room had a purple bar I wanted to take home. I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED this hotel and what's even greater about it is the location. It is in the heart of "Plaza Santa Ana", a five minute walk from Sol and all the shopping and steps away from good restaurants and lots of bars.

If you ever go to Madrid I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. Also make sure to go to Naturbier, the "paella" place right in front of it, and to "Mercado San Miguel". If you like designer owned boutique stores and finding unique pieces head to Triball. It's right behind Gran Via in the "barrio de Malasaña". Start in "Calle Desengaño", walk your way thru it and end up in Fuencarral. It is very artistry, fun and you'll definitely enjoy the shopping there. For the more popular stores just stay in Sol and Gran Via and for the fancy stores go to "barrio de Salamanca". Well if you are ever in Madrid just let me know. I might want to join you. I love Madrid!!!
