Sanxenxo: A hidden gem in Galicia, Spain!

First of I ABSOLUTELY LOVE TRAVELING so I'm always looking for new places to discover. So when it came to the hubby's birthday I knew what I wanted to do. It was an extra benefit that he made it clear he wanted it to be just him and me and that he didn't want any surprises. Well I did make sure it was the two of us but I love surprises so I couldn't help myself. It got me into a little trouble when I said I had to drive and he had to have his eyes closed or be blindfolded. He threw a fit and I almost felt I had a child for 10 minutes but then he got into it and even let me walk him to the room with his eyes closed. I had to bump him into a few walls on the way just to get back at him for being so difficult at the beginning though. LOL

Bilbao, San Sebastian and Haro: Our 3 day getaway to the Basque Country and La Rioja!

This was the structure right
in the middle of our hotel.
You can sign the rocks!!
For my birthday this year one of my best friends came to visit from Houston, Texas. Since she was going to be here for a whole week I thought we could make a little visit to somewhere neither of us had ever been. We wanted to make it to Morroco but we couldn't find any tickets to fit our schedule so we decided to go to the Basque Country for 3 days. We tried to fit as much as we could in those days and I think we did pretty good.

Me Madrid: My new favorite hotel in Madrid!

Hotel Me Madrid
For my B-Day back in February 16th we headed to Madrid for a weekend getaway where we got to meet and celebrate with our best friends and my sister. Since it was my b-day I wanted to stay in a very cool hotel. I was looking for a boutique hotel with a rooftop terrace preferably, rooms with a view and in the middle of everything. After browsing for the best deals and reading lots of reviews I decided for the ME Madrid. From now on it's the place where I want to stay every time I go to Madrid.

Our VERY Puerto Rican X-Mas in Santiago

Did I say what an amazing hubby I have?!! Well he is so great he made sure I had the most Puerto Rican X-Mas we could have considering our circumstance (we are in Spain). And how Puerto Rican can it get? Well I think having home roasted pork in the actual "vara", or as we call it "lechón a la vara", "arroz con gandules", "arroz con longaniza" and tostones makes it Puerto Rican enough! hahaha. So here are a few pictures and a small summary of how we spent our Christmas in Santiago, Spain.

X-Mas Roadtrip: Lisbon and Sevilla

I know I'm a bit far behind posting this now but thought I'd review our 4-day, over 20 hour drive, X-Mas roadtrip. We went to some pretty cool places.

So for once Andrés got some days off after a Sunday game and we thought it would be nice to visit some new places we had never been. We initially wanted to go somewhere warmer and sunny like Ibiza or Las Palmas but tickets were so expensive we thought it wasn't worth it... Soooo we did what most of our friends here thought was the craziest idea, drive to the south of Spain (9 hours away). Our goal was to get to Sevilla but we would figure it out on the way.
